How can I import contacts into my WebmailASP account?
Contact information can be copied from other email clients through a .CSV file. A Comma Separated Values file (CSV) contains information in a format that can be understood by many different applications.
The process to copy contacts from one program to WebmailASP consists of two steps: first you export from the application where the contacts currently reside and save them into a CSV file; then you read that file into the WebmailASP account using the Contact Books / Import Contact Book window.
Below you find instructions about the creation of the contacts file specific for the email application where they currently reside. Your contacts themselves can be written in any language, but the heading of the file must be in english; so, make sure you export the file from an application running in english.
Outlook: For Outlook Express, 98, and 2000 the sequence of actions is: File / Import Export / Export To A File / Comma Separated Values (Windows), then pick the Contacts folder. In Outlook Express you should also make sure to check the box next to "Export Contacts from the Contacts Folder."
Eudora: The "export as CSV file" capability is under File / Save As.
Pegasus Mail: Select Address book, Export to text file.
Netscape: Open Netscape Communicator version 4.6 or higher. Open the "Communicator" menu and select "Address Book." In the Address Book window, open the File menu and select "Save As" or "Export."
Are you having problems importing your CSV file into WebmailASP? You can try to compare the contents of your CSV file against a file that is known to work. Download the sample file by using the right mouse button and the option Save Target As. Save to a local directory. Point the WebmailASP import dialog to that directory.
Is it possible to use "Message Recall" with WebmailASP?
No, "Message Recall" is an Outlook-only feature. It is not supported by any other email client: Eudora, Netscape, Pegasus, etc. For more info on this subject see the page at exchangefaq.org.
For messages that I received today, why does WebmailASP display only the time and not the date?
WebmailASP, like other smart email clients (i.e. Netscape Email) optimizes the use of space on your screen. If the message is less than a day old, it shows only the time of the message. If the message was received in the last seven days, it shows the day of the week. If it is older than a week, WebmailASP shows the mm/dd/yy date.
